Tried the installation twice (with a re-boot in between) and neither worked. In both cases I got the screen snapshot below. When I followed the 'Get help with this error' I got a pop-up screen with the search argument listed in the subject of this message. There was no exact match found.
Doing a general Web search I found hits that were similar, but dated in 2011 for installation problems with IE 9.
P.S. A couple days ago there was an update consisting of about 15 updates (all successfully installed).
i found a good solution. i also tested and working
there are many methods to solve this issue. i am giving some examples
Let’s follow these methods and check if it helps.
You may run the Windows Update troubleshooter and then try to install the update.
If ‘Method 1’ doesn’t help, you may follow these steps.
a) You may manually download the update from the Microsoft Download Center
b) Thereafter, configure the computer in clean boot and then try to install the update. It will start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs and helps to eliminate software conflicts.
The following link has steps showing how to perform clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Please ensure that the computer is set to start as usual by following the step 7 from the article: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows7: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
